What is an eBook?
An eBook, also known as a digital book, is the digital media equivalent of one of our conventional printed books. The eBook has a digital rights management system that allows it to be read on a computer that has Adobe Reader installed and access to the internet. The eBook security does not allow for an eBook to be printed.
Minimum Requirements
Adobe Reader version 7 or higher (free, get it here) is needed to view the sample and full version of the eBook. Purchasing and activating the full version of the eBook requires an internet connection.
eBook Activation Process
When an eBook is downloaded and opened for the first time, the Table of Contents and a sample chapter are displayed. The eBook will have to be activated in order to get access to its full content. To activate the eBook, you need an activation key which you will receive after completing the purchase.
Purchasing the eBook
With the sample eBook open start the purchase process by clicking on the “Buy This eBook Now!” button on the top-right corner of the eBook window.
After you complete eBook purchase transaction, you will receive an activation key. That’s the key you will use to activate the eBook.
Activating the eBook
If you have just purchased the eBook using the “Buy This eBook Now!” button the activation window will already be displayed when you get back to the eBook. If you purchased the eBook without using the “Buy This eBook Now!” button, or if the activation window is not displayed, just select “Activate eBook…” from the “eBook” menu.
When the activation window is displayed, copy (Ctrl-C) your activation key from the email you received or from the Web page where it was displayed, and paste it (Ctrl-V) into the activation window. Then, click on the “Activate” button to get access to the eBook’s full content. Once the eBook is activated the full content is available.
