Steel Elevations
OpenBridge Modeler version 2024 has added the ability to produce a static schematic elevation of a steel beam. Once the steel beams have been placed, the Steel Elevation tool will be available to use. The tool can be found in the OpenBridge Modeler workflow in the Reports and Drawings tab of the Drawings Group.

Once launched, the user can select the specific steel beam elevation that they wish to create a drawing of from the drop-down choices available. The areas to choose from are:
- Beam Group
- Span
- Beam
If Dimensions are desired, there are more options:
- Vertical Exaggeration Factor can be applied
- Selection of a specific Dimension Group

Once the Steel Beam Elevation Drawing Settings have been set, clicking OK will process the request and create a new design model named ES_[name of the bridge][name of the unit]. In this example, it is ‘ES_Test Bridge 1 Unit2’. Opening the Model dialog will allow the user to open the Steel Beam Elevation Model. Here is a very simple example of what is produced by the above settings with a basic steel beam:

Renaming Beam Groups
The option to rename Beam Groups after they have been placed is now available through the Explorer. Right-click on the Beam Group that you want to rename and select Rename from the menu.
