Challenge: Transition from MicroStation J to V8i and from Eagle Point Software to InRoads. Common standards did not exist for their six departments. EnvisionCAD solution: We successfully implemented a transition plan with one set of standards. This included detailed planning and processes, software configuration, and multi-level user & CAD manager training. Departmental workspaces, plotting solutions, and other custom tools were also developed.
Challenge: Convert and transition large DOT and their consultants from AutoDesk to Bentley software while minimizing impact on current production. EnvisionCAD solution: We worked side-by-side with DOT through planning, development, implementation, and migration. Successfully developed configuration files, standards, workflows, workspaces, custom applications/macros, and custom training manuals; updated for multiple versions. Training and Help Desk provided to DOT and consultants.
Challenge: Improve Civil 3D skills and consistency working on projects for various state DOTs from multiple offices. EnvisionCAD solution: Effective on-going program was implemented, consisting of: education on-site, video conference, and our online training; process improvement through conversions, workflows, and printing tools; standards for state-specific environments on all workstations; support with help desk, hardware optimization, and upgrades.
Challenge: MicroStation and AutoCAD version upgrades and transition from IRAS/B to Descartes in a short timeframe. EnvisionCAD solution: Developed a successful management plan and provided ongoing consultation, including upgrade strategies and the development of standards, custom tools, and workspaces. Custom training guides were authored, and user and CAD manager training was provided.
